Aston Martin has recently announced the release of the V12 Zagato, which is scheduled to go into production for the 2012 season. It goes fast, cost alot, and oh yea, it’s quite beautiful and aggresive, or as Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Director of Design said:
The V12 Zagato is an elegant yet brutal design which reflects the great balance between race performance and pure Aston Martin style
It was designed for the celebration of their 50th anniversary this year, after the renowned DB4GT Zagato. Cast in handcrafted aluminum and and an aluminum/carbon fibre body, and bringing roughly 510HP, the Zagato is a fierce competitor on the track. Aston Martin entered not one but two of the new V12 Zagato in this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hour on 25th and 26th of June. Covering nearly 230 laps and over 3,700 miles, the two Zagato race cars proved the endurance and powerful, accurate performance of Aston Martins new production car.
And who doesn’t love the sound of a 6.0 Litre V12. accelerating from 0-62 mph in a quick 4.2 seconds. Good luck getting a hand on one, as the V12 Zagato will have at very limited release. Approximately 150 of these race inspired AM Zagato V12’s are scheduled for production in mid 2012. On a side note, who thinks the V12 Zagato takes design cues from the R35 GTR? Just sayin…
